....Looks like it will be a while more before I can think of a new car and my 10 year old car has gone past the manufactures warranty..
....Does anyone in DU land know of a good company that has great coverage...

OR save your money and buy a younger used car
nobody is going to give any kind of deal on a warranty for a 10 year old vehicle (SCAM!)

For example, on most Hondas, you have to have the timing chain replaced around 120,000 miles; it's a LOT cheaper than not replacing it.
Your owners manual should have a service schedule; follow it and fix small problems before they become big ones. Not always possible - sometimes shit just breaks - but by keeping up with routine stuff, you should avoid the d'oh! problems (been there, done that, got the bill :-)).
