I can't believe it.
read this: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=105x9574713

That was Saturday night. Nobody open in small town world Sunday, plus I drove it around for 20 or 30 miles yesterday. SOOOOoooo, since we are expecting to pick up the vehicle that is in the shop some time this week, we figure the lack of a spare is going to be doable for a few days.

That was some dumb figuring. Kid got on the interstate and something started thumping - the tread came off the spare. OH YAY. It's 6:30, nothing is open, and he is 10 miles from home.

God I am so sick of this shit.

He will be OK, hobbled back to town and left it at a different shop. He will have to spend the night at a friend's house (again). I'll call tomorrow and see if they have a used tire or two that will fit and kid can pick it up after work. One good thing about small town life and being part of the community is they will let the truck go and I can go back down on Wednesday and pay then. Same with my "roadside assitance" bill from Saturday.

sigh:cry:

1. Oh my gosh
When it rains, it pours, huh? Just read about your exciting Saturday night - great pics, by the way, the sunset was gorgeous and the dogs are luverly!

Nice to hear about your community, though. That makes up for a lot of the problems, I'm thinking. Here in suburban DC you could never find that level of trust, but out by the family farm in Iowa, it's common practice.

Best of luck on your automotive issues! :hi:

9. Yes indeed
Right after you kick the tires, spit on the hood, pound on the steering wheel and curse the damn thing till the air turns blue.

I've done all those things -- some at the same time. It helps to be able to multitask when one is very very frustrated.

7. I know about vehicle problems, yes I do
There was a month there when every time I turned around my truck was in the shop. Lost transporatation, lost money due to down time, lost money for the mechanic, lost pride, demoralization.

But things have gotten better and I hope they do for you, too.
