PHILLIES RE-SIGN CLIFF LEE!!!! They now have the BEST PITCHING
rotation in baseball, and will be kicking some ass in the 2011 season. Just when I thought nothing good would happen next year, at least I have baseball to look forward to! :-)

1. Congrats BUT
Just don't assume anything. Remember the Giants made all of your pitchers look very mediocre in the playoffs, and they were far from offensive powerhouses.
That said, I wish the Nats could have landed him. They have some more work to do...

5. IMO, the Giants are ALWAYS offensive...but then, I don't like much of anything
about San Francisco anyway... except that old running back on their football team. That little old guy got off a great one last Sunday!
(62 yard catch and run for a TD).
Nice to see Westbrook still working.

8. Okay, Mark, them's fightin' words!!
Except...oh, yeah it's not necessary to fight because GUESS WHAT?? Your guys LOST, remember?

So sticks and stones, et al, but the sticks that hit the balls and score the runs are all that matter. So feel free to dis. We won.:toast:

2. Congrats!!
You've just made my day. I'm a Red Sox fan and the Yankees really needed him to not be the also-rans in the AL East.

It's gonna be a hard road for Yankees fans and their solidly 3rd-place team.

(I root for the Nats in the NL though.)

6. Solidly 3rd-place team?
Don't look now, but half of your presumed 2nd-place team (Tampa Bay) signed elsewhere.

9. Counting the days to Spring training.
Lee going to Phillies was great news even for this Mets fan.

We will get to see a lot of him when he faces the Mets

at Citi Field and on the road.

:woohoo:

11. I Think The Cardinals Rotation Is Comparable To The Phillies...
And will probably have a better line-up and bullpen. That said, it was a great sign for the Phillies and sure takes some heat off the front office for letting Jayson Werth walk.

13. last i checked, pitching wasn't a problem for the phils in the postseason
as long as the same swing-happy hacker strikeout kings are in the lineup, that needs to be addressed...
