2. Believe it or not, I saw that band live! |

There was a club easy to get into with a fake ID that I went to just about every week when I was a senior in high school. They usually had cover bands, but for a brief period of time were booking original acts. One week, I saw the Stories there. (I also saw Bo Diddley there one week, but unfortunately I wasn't there the week the New York Dolls played.)
I liked that song, particularly because I had a bit of a romance going on with a black guy I knew at school at the time. During my senior year, I was involved in an experimental metropolitan educational program in which mostly white kids from outside the city went to school with mostly black kids from an inner city school. The urban school was a boys school, and coincidentally most of the kids in the program from my school were girls. You can imagine the dynamic there. That program was the best experience I had in high school.
