Ernie was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay area. He worked and raised his family in San Jose, CA and Campbell, CA, and then retired to Paradise, CA in 1998. After graduating from San Mateo High School in 1952, Ernie worked as a Meat Manager for several large grocery store chains including Mayfair Markets. He was also a member of the UFCW Butchers Union. Ernie eventually went into business for himself, owning a fish & poultry delicatessen, a butcher shop and later a knife sharpening service. He not only took pride in his businesses, but truly relished the friends he made during his time in business. Over the years, his good sense of humor and generosity, gave cause for people to genuinely call him a good friend. Ernie was preceded in death by his brothers Patrick and Thomas. He is survived by his sister Stephanie Darrenogue of Sparks, NV, daughters Kathleen Stokes of Bolder Creek, CA, Cheryl McCoy of Paradise, CA, Elaine Genasci of San Luis Obispo, CA, his son, Charles Genasci of Atascadero, CA, five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many close friends. Ernie asked to be cremated and no formal services will be held. Ernie had a passion for animals and over the years had many loving dogs.
