2. "Went out for a quick coon" |
|
Was my Dad's expression for doing something you never should have started. His friend Jimmy was an avid coon hunter , and he and 'the boys" had gone out for a breif (they thought) hunt on a work night. Dad bumped into Jim at work the next morning, looking like something the dog dragged home. The hunt for a "quick coon" had resulted in 2 lost dogs and somebody's truck still stuck in the woods. Jim had had about an hour's sleep before his hour drive to work - not good!
