In 1982, when we went to my husband's 10th high-school reunion, we discovered that, not only was a former classmate a porn star and held some kind of a nude beauty-pageant title, but she had arrived in a camper that announced her happy status on its side. As I recall, she wore a sparkly jumpsuit and was accompanied by a sleazy manager. She had a few photos in the Pink Poodle calendar one year, and some raunchy ones (taken at the Pink Poodle) in "Cheri" magazine.

I was told about her day job after I'd met her. My initial impression, without knowing what she did for a living, was that she was sort of cold and stand-offish. She reminded me of a few cheerleaders I knew in high school. There didn't seem to be any tragedy or misfortune surrounding her...she just decided that she'd let middle-aged men ogle her for money.
