Should I wake my son up so he can see the eclipse? |
|
He wasn't feeling well and so he went to bed early. He's a teenager and couldn't care less about things like eclipses, but yet I feel like I should at least make him get out of bed and come outside just for a minute so that when he's 50 or so he can tell everyone how he saw that historic lunar eclipse way back in '10.
Although I bet even if I manage to wake him up, he simply will not even get out of bed.
Should I try?

and if you want to "encourage" him to get up; toss a big glass of water in his face to wake him. He'll have to change the sheets before he can get back to sleep. :D
He's a teenager - they love practical jokes like that.

LOL
But I am sooooooooo tempted to at least go turn his light on and maybe then tell him at least I didn't throw water on him!

4. I think I'll wait 'til it's all disappeared, and then wake him up and say |
|
"the moon is gone!! Someone stole the mooon!"
And then watch as it reappears.

6. I did. It didn't take. |

I told him this is a once-in-a-600-year-event.
He said: "I don't care. Leave me alone."

9. Heh. Yeah, if he wasn't sick I might've done it |
|
But he went to bed after a day of coughing and the beginnings of a cold/flu. It just wouldn't have been very well received.
Oh well. Next millennium.

11. I woke my 10-year-old up. |

The last time we had a lunar eclipse like this one on a Winter Solstice, Mary Tudor was the queen of England. No way I was going to let him miss it. :)
