1. I logged on a week or so ago for the first time since June.
I accepted my 15 year old daughter's "friend request" at that time, along with a few others from old high school friends. It has been a good way to locate other people, well, mostly they've located me. Other than that, I find it rather annoying - too many fucking lost animals and other weird shit from games that people must sit and play all damn day. You can tell a young wanker created it.

6. You can get rid of the game updates easily
I'm told that you can just change your settings so that they won't show up. Unfortunately, I wasn't told that until I tried another tack, which was to "Like" every band, organization, or museum that I like in real life so long as they updated their FB page relatively frequently. Thus, my news feed became boundlessly interesting and I'm the rare one to be hooked on FB for non-social reasons. You can also just "Like" or comment on the posts of your non-game-player FB friends, and their posts will be higher priority for your news feed; thus, the games ones will drop off.

2. Pointless, misspelled posts -e.g: "Finaly! done wraping Xmas present's!, haveing tater tot's &
hotdog's for super, then senting off the kid's of to bed! Now the grownup's getteing some time to thereselve's! LOL!"

Seriously. Just when you think you know some people fairly well, Facebook comes along to let you know that they: Can't spell; can't form a coherent sentence; don't seem to care how it makes them look; don't need to post every damm thing.

8. FB causes amnesia
People who were mean to me in high school now try to friend me as if nothing bad ever happened and I would eagerly welcome them. Am I wrong to take pleasure in the fact that they are now morbidly obese and look 20 years older than I do?

11. lol, I take pleasure in it too...
but I also decided it's been almost twenty years, and in twenty years people change a lot. Some don't and still remain the assholes they were in hs. :hi:

9. I think it's a fairly decent way to keep up with people.
OTOH, I have been appalled at the political views of some friends and family. People I partied pretty hard with back in the day have devolved into Teabaggers or outright racists. Not all of them, but enough to thoroughly amaze me.

12. I've noticed that, also. Of course I was from a conservative part of Ohio
that gave the nation, Mike Oxley of Sarbanes-Oxley.

Fortunately, none of them except one or two actually spout rw talking points, but most of them list "conservative" as their political leaning.
