1. People either love him or hate him.
I think he is pure genius. He only gets better as the years
go by.

2. I love him so much.
I've been a fan since I heard Rain Dogs back in '85.

3. Thanks for sharing.
I love this song.

Here's a cover version by Neko Case. The hooker finally gets her own voice.

5. If there is a God, I hope he's Tom Waits.
Really, wouldn't that make your day?

(One of my songs of the season, btw)

8. His absolutely best album ever (in my humble opinion)
Saw him at the Quiet Knight in '75 (Belmont right next to the El)....Incredible performance by a genius of a poet and musician.

9. Probably my favorite Tom Waits song, "The Piano Has Been Drinking"...
.
.
.
.
.
...coupled with his appearance on "Fernwood Tonight" with Martin Mull and Fred Willard.
.
I always wanted to BE Tom Waits.
.
.
.
.
.
Hell... still do.
.
.
.
And not just because he and Ricki Lee Jones used to be an item.
.
Not entirely.

Wait wait wait... THIS is my favorite.

"Somewhere (from West Side Story)"
