Wind chill factor of 15 below (short rant)... But all is not lost. :-)
It's too damn early for this. By late Jan, early Feb, this temp will feel tropical. It will actually be 15 below with a God-knows-what wind chill factor. But I need time to prepare. Ease into it. Not a sudden burst of cold after 40+ degree temps only about 10 days ago. This sucks.

We didn't end up w/too much snow. I'm guessing about 9 or 10 inches, but that wind was fierce. 40 to 50 mph gusts. On the upside, the power was out yesterday for only 6 hours the first time and 2 the second. That is REALLY good for around here. Thanks Central Maine Power!!! Sometimes you guys surprise me! Of course, low expectations help... Or has that been the plan all along? :tinfoilhat: Hmmmm. :freak:

My poor daughter got stuck in Tucson for an extra day due to the storm, which wouldn't be all that bad as far as weather is concerned, but it made for a very long visit w/her father. I heard no complaints (unlike me, she doesn't roll that way, lol) but I KNOW she was bored based on the copious amount of phone calls and e-mails she sent me. Plus she's apparently been Face-Booking up a storm of her own, according to relatives who do the FB thing. That too is quite uncharacteristic of her. Boredom for a person of her disposition is something akin to torture.

She managed to catch a flight out of Az. yesterday afternoon only to become stranded again. This time in Chicago...till Thursday!!! Thankfully, she has a close friend from her college years who lives there, so she'll be hanging out w/her for the next couple of days. Her NYC employer has been very understanding, and is allowing her to do much of her work via computer.

So, cold weather aside, I guess things aren't too bad, otherwise you, my patient, kind-hearted lounge friends would have been the recipients of something far less palatable then this morning's rambling TMI tale. :D
