Threatened to beat someone up in GD and got banned for it.

What was your favorite item you purchased this year?

Commit nicotene lozenges.

What item do you regret wasting money on owning?

Nothing, really. I was a broke-ass bastard most of the year.

Was there any missed opportunities this year? What was it?

I could have written more.

What was your favorite movie from 2010?

The Town

What was your favorite album from 2010?

None. New music sucks ass-batter.

Were you able to keep any of your New Years resolution from the beginning of the year? What was it?

Quit smoking.

If you could repeat 2010 again what is one thing you would have done differently?

Quit smoking earlier.

Naw, man. I'll bet it was worth it. Unless, of course, you failed to learn life's little lesson about staying out of GD.

2. My answers
What was the one thing you did in 2010 that made you happiest? Took the new position offered to me at work. I had a great year work wise and hopefully a good raise to end the year.

What was the one thing you did in 2010 that made you think "What the *#%^ was I thinking?" Parking my car where I did when it got totalled. I usually park at another spot on the street and had I parked there I would still have my beloved Toyota.

What was your favorite item you purchased this year? Despite having to replace a car that I loved and would have owned for another 10 years - I do love the 'new' Suburu I found. It's a 2001 but I hope to have that for another 10 years instead.

What item do you regret wasting money on owning? A Wii Fit. I want to lose wait, I really don't want to be yelled at for not having perfect balance.

Was there any missed opportunities this year? What was it? I wish I would have done more campaigning up in Pennsylvania. I had fun working in Delaware but it turns out we had that one in the bag. Perhaps I could have helped more to get Joe Sestak elected.

What was your favorite movie from 2010? Inception

What was your favorite album from 2010? Soundtrack from Inception

Were you able to keep any of your New Years resolution from the beginning of the year? What was it? None. I suck at these

If you could repeat 2010 again what is one thing you would have done differently? I think I would have spent more weekends in Pennsylvania working on the Sestak campaign and spend weeknights in Delaware helping out with Coons. But I did make some great friends on the Coons campaign :D

If you could pick the person to be "TIME Magazine's Person of the Year" who would you pick and why? My mother - for being there when I needed her this past year.

3. my answers (2010 was a very good year that I'm sad to see end)

What was the one thing you did in 2010 that made you happiest? Worked as a field organizer on a campaign and discovered this is the field I want to spend my entire career in

What was the one thing you did in 2010 that made you think "What the *#%^ was I thinking?" Parking my car where I did when it got totalled. I usually park at another spot on the street and had I parked there I would still have my beloved Toyota.

What was your favorite item you purchased this year? My Blackberry-- I finally upgraded my phone and I love love love having a smartphone and one with a full keyboard

What item do you regret wasting money on owning? The purchase was from 2008 but my HP laptop that turned out to be a piece of shit

Was there any missed opportunities this year? What was it? Nothing major--- my life is what it is and I have no regrets, especially this year

What was your favorite movie from 2010? I don't think I saw a movie this year

What was your favorite album from 2010? I did not buy an album this year

Were you able to keep any of your New Years resolution from the beginning of the year? What was it? Never make them

If you could repeat 2010 again what is one thing you would have done differently? I would have been involved with more campaigns locally before I was called to Kentucky to work for Jack Conway. We lost one congressman and I wonder if I could have done anything to help him keep his seat

If you could pick the person to be "TIME Magazine's Person of the Year" who would you pick and why? My person of the year or in general? The answers would be very different :-)

5. Bucky's 2010 in review. I give it a C-minus.
What was the one thing you did in 2010 that made you happiest?
Move out of my townhouse & into an apartment

What was the one thing you did in 2010 that made you think "What the *#%^ was I thinking?"
Not looking around more carefully while driving home late on a Wednesday night in downtown Houston.

What was your favorite item you purchased this year?
Mad Men, seasons 1-3

What item do you regret wasting money on owning?
Health insurance. If you're healthy, it's a rip off.

Was there any missed opportunities this year? What was it?
I coulda been boning someone right now if I only didn't have ethics.

What was your favorite movie from 2010?
I don't recall any.

What was your favorite album from 2010?
I only get my music on the radio or through YouTube.

Were you able to keep any of your New Years resolution from the beginning of the year? What was it?
I don't make annual resolutions. I make weekly resolutions. The most interesting I didn't make until February 2010 about an insane-slash-obsessive online writing project. And I'm still doing it. It's why my post rate at DU has gone down.

If you could repeat 2010 again what is one thing you would have done differently?
I'd've communicated my plans for Christmas with my family better. It all sorta blew up on me and it's really sucked this year.

If you could pick the person to be "TIME Magazine's Person of the Year" who would you pick and why?
Matthew Weinberg. Watching Mad Men has been the highlight of my 2010.

8. My answers...
(1)What I did that made me happiest was having more patience with my mother's anxiety problems she developed with her illness.

(2)My "what the heck was I thinking?" moment was the heart-to-heart talk I had with my stubborn brother-in-law about the grudge he's holding against his brother, my brutally-honest husband.

(3)My favorite item that we purchased was a 2010 Pathfinder LE.

(4)There's nothing that I regret buying, that I can think of now.

(5)Missed opportunities were definitely getting more organized!

(6)I haven't seen any 2010 movies, but I'm looking forward to seeing "Fair Game" & "True Grit".

(7)No new music for me -- I'll stick to my old tunes.

(8)I didn't have any resolutions to keep -- it's safer not having any promises to keep.

(9)I'd have painted my bedroom when I bought the paint 7 months ago. :sigh:

(10)My younger brother gets my vote for "Man of the Year". My mother depends on him the most because of his smarts, his soothing personality, & his overall goodness. He's got a lot on his shoulders, despite the time he takes to care for our mom.

9. Answers

What was the one thing you did in 2010 that made you happiest? Flew across the country to be at the wedding of my cousin whom I had never met and reconnect with my dad's (RIP) side of the family.

What was the one thing you did in 2010 that made you think "What the *#%^ was I thinking?" Volunteered with too many groups. I like to feel needed, but stretch myself too thin.

What was your favorite item you purchased this year? A t-shirt with sparkly images of wine glasses and bar glasses that says "Group Therapy."

What item do you regret wasting money on owning? A bunch of crap from my friend's candle party.

Was there any missed opportunities this year? What was it? Can't think of any.

What was your favorite movie from 2010? I don't think I watched any new releases this year... mostly older movies on Netflix. I re-watched "Stir of Echoes." Awesome movie!

What was your favorite album from 2010? The Black Keys - Brothers

Were you able to keep any of your New Years resolution from the beginning of the year? What was it? I don't make NY resolutions, but I did make some mid-year promises to make some changes, such as not letting a bad working relationship drag me down. It has done wonders for my morale!

If you could repeat 2010 again what is one thing you would have done differently? Saved more money... I made the mistake (after being laid off and having short term gigs lapse, and finally getting my old permanent job back) of living like I had job security. Then I helped support a friend who'd been out of work for a year and a half, and by September, I was back to living paycheck to paycheck again. So I am holding myself to some serious spending limits while I rebuild an emergency fund.

If you could pick the person to be "TIME Magazine's Person of the Year" who would you pick and why? Dan Choi - no explanation needed.

10. Oooh interesting questions
What was the one thing you did in 2010 that made you happiest? Completed the National Novel Writing Month challenge for the second year in a row and finished my novel. Also lost 20 lbs.

What was the one thing you did in 2010 that made you think "What the *#%^ was I thinking?" Splashed a couple of drops of water on my MacBook keyboard. Fried the mofo and lost a good chunk of my novel. x(

What was your favorite item you purchased this year? Well, on the up side, I really like my MacBook Pro... I also really love my 2000 Saab 900 SE convertible.

What item do you regret wasting money on owning? I'm sorta sorry I had to by a new laptop--the money could have been spent better elsewhere--but what's done is done.

Was there any missed opportunities this year? What was it? Dunno. Musta missed 'em.

What was your favorite movie from 2010? Alas, I do not see movies that are not kid-related. Of those, I liked Toy Story 3 very much.

What was your favorite album from 2010? Ah, I'm too old for that shit. I am not proud to admit that I enjoy Bruno Mars tunes that I hear on the radio box.

Were you able to keep any of your New Years resolution from the beginning of the year? What was it? I don't make resolutions.

If you could repeat 2010 again what is one thing you would have done differently? Can't say, really--again, what's done is done.

If you could pick the person to be "TIME Magazine's Person of the Year" who would you pick and why? Hmmm...I honestly don't know. Must think on that some more.

14. Hmmmmm...tough questions.
1. What was the one thing you did in 2010 that made you happiest?

On a superficial level, the news that they're making a new Godzilla movie in 2012. On a serious level, visiting a close friend that I hadn't seen in years.

2. What was the one thing you did in 2010 that made you think "What the *#%^ was I thinking?"

Too many to keep track of. But not seeing a doctor for a seriously messed up arm for months would probably be at the top of it. When you're using your right hand to grab and move your left arm and can't move it at all without excruciating pain you should probably see a doctor. I ignored it, like a bozo.

3. What was your favorite item you purchased this year?

No one item, just music in general.

4. What item do you regret wasting money on owning?

Nothing. I'm amazingly frugal and have few possessions. The ones I do have I'm happy about.

5. Was there any missed opportunities this year? What was it?

Too personal, next?

6. What was your favorite movie from 2010?

Aftershock, a Chinese movie that was superb. It starts with the earthquake in Tangshan, China back in 1976 that killed 240,000 people. In the movie, a mother's two children are trapped in the rubble under a huge slab of concrete. If the rescuers move it to save the son it will kill the daughter. If they move it to save the daughter it will kill the son. Under pressure to choose one or the other she decides to save her son, but unknown to her the daughter hears her choice and survives. The movie follows 40 years of their lives and the effect that decision had on all three.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMf-YfWGe-E&feature=related

7. What was your favorite album from 2010?

Easiest pick in years for me. Deathspell Omega - Paracletus. A ton of awesome music this year, but this was head and shoulders above it all for me.

8. Were you able to keep any of your New Years resolution from the beginning of the year? What was it?

I don't make any.

9. If you could repeat 2010 again what is one thing you would have done differently?

Another that's too personal.

10. If you could pick the person to be "TIME Magazine's Person of the Year" who would you pick and why?

Any and all cancer survivors.

1. What was the one thing you did in 2010 that made you happiest? Going back to Istanbul. I love love love Istanbul

2. What was the one thing you did in 2010 that made you think "What the *#%^ was I thinking?" I let my daughters go back to the US with my husband while I stayed home to deal with school, take care of my animals, and get some cleaning done. I missed them so badly I could hardly stand it. I cried buckets every morning, and I was so depressed and sad it shocked me.

3. What was your favorite item you purchased this year? A necklace I got in Istanbul. I love Istanbul.

4. What item do you regret wasting money on owning? Expensive face cream. I should have known I wouldn't use it.

5. Was there any missed opportunities this year? What was it? I really should have spent time sorting and cleaning in my house.

6. What was your favorite movie from 2010? I saw lots of movies this year, and I really liked some of them, but none stand out as a favorite.

7. What was your favorite album from 2010? I don't have one. Not this year, anyway.

8. Were you able to keep any of your New Years resolution from the beginning of the year? What was it? I probably resolved to lose weight, but I gained some instead.

9. If you could repeat 2010 again what is one thing you would have done differently? I would have made different arrangements in the summer. I didn't want to spend 6 weeks hanging out with my in-laws, but I could have figured out a way to be apart from my daughters for less time.
10. If you could pick the person to be "TIME Magazine's Person of the Year" who would you pick and why? Probably Julian Assange. I'm fascinated by the wikileaks.

26. ...erm...
What was the one thing you did in 2010 that made you happiest?
Managed to avoid the budget cuts in my school district to keep the job at the school where I was placed last year. ...Although that really has less to do with me and more to do with the way the district works.

So, I guess, another thing I had a hand in was helping cure my boycat's diabetes. Yes, cats can get diabetes. He was diagnosed in June, put on a special diabetic diet, and I was taught to give him insulin shots twice a day. This went on for 2 months, after which his blood sugar levels returned to normal and his diabetes went away. This is also fairly typical for cats, that diabetes will show up and then sometimes disappear after treatment. It can return, but so far my boycat has been doing fine, and the diabetes hasn't returned.

What was the one thing you did in 2010 that made you think "What the *#%^ was I thinking?"
Visiting my mom for christmas, after seeing her 4 weeks prior for Thanksgiving. Not good for my mental health.

What was your favorite item you purchased this year?
Currently, my new sofa. I've also just employed a private investigator to help me locate info on my birth parents. No matter what the result, I expect it will be money well spent.

What item do you regret wasting money on owning?
This may sound kind of stupid, but I bought one of those couch/floor cushions that's kind of like a mini-chair backrest. I bought it to use with my new couch, prior to purchasing the couch. And once I got the new couch home, I realized I didn't need the backrest cushion and it had been a complete waste of money. ...Could be worse, I suppose. :eyes:

Was there any missed opportunities this year? What was it?
Not finding any work over my summer break. It wasn't entirely my fault, since I was unaware there's a deadline to apply for summer work in my school district. No one told me anything, so I was completely clueless. Yeah. Way to go on the communication, there, bosses!

What was your favorite movie from 2010?
Hmm... probably Inception. Although The Social Network, Catfish, Black Swan, Harry Potter, and True Grit were all pretty damn awesome, too.

What was your favorite album from 2010?
School of Seven Bells, Disconnect From Desire.

Were you able to keep any of your New Years resolution from the beginning of the year? What was it?
I don't make resolutions.

If you could repeat 2010 again what is one thing you would have done differently?
Oh god, I wouldn't want to repeat this year again.

If you could pick the person to be "TIME Magazine's Person of the Year" who would you pick and why?

If you could pick the person to be "TIME Magazine's Person of the Year" who would you pick and why? The Career Politician. This was supposed to be an anti-politician year, but Dan Coats, Mike DeWine, Sam Brownback, John Kasich, Rob Portman, and (on a happier note) Jerry Brown were all elected to something.
