1. Picard and flute.

Picard Inner Light (solo flute)

That may have been the synthesis you were looking for.

2. I remember that episode,
but I wasn't looking for synthesis, just similarities to throw off the normal obsessiveness with the ST "Gorn!!!11!" around here ;)

Steve Gorn is better than any of them by lightyears :D

3. Was not making a comparison of better or worse.

And I learned alot from that star trek episode, even if I disagree with some of its premises. I also learned both from Gorn's actions, weather it be the hug, or the trip wires, and Kirks actions of synthesis McGyver style and fast motion.

And especially the idea of compassion.

The flute playing from that Gorn, was also very beautiful, and enjoyed listening to that also. Very fresh and clear sounds from such a simple instrument, it says much of how there is more to music then each note. Really beautiful also.

And actually the Picard episode leans to tron doctrine with the imprint on the door, it also leans to past lives doctrine in that story, and it can also be concepts of spiritual thoughts that are part of peoples lives every day. Then there is watching angels going up and down steps, much of the meaning of steps in many movies.

Then again the guy listening to him looks like me in that picture, so there is always that also :) (also looks like my Dad, and my Grandfather also. ) :D Guess that is the nice thing about a fuzzy image, it can be seen many ways by many people. :)

I think there is much good in Star Trek Next Generation series, even if they mostly are a science, or pi card, there is many concept of spiritual thoughts and better ideas of good heart also.
