Bird on a wire
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9cvOjmWv7yc&feature=related

Like a bird on the wire
Like a drunk in a midnight choir
I have tried in my way to be free

Like a worm on a hook
Like a knight from some old fashioned book
I have saved all my ribbons for thee

If I, if I have been unkind
I hope that you can just let it go by
If I, if I have been untrue
I hope you know it was never to you

Oh, like a baby, stillborn
Like a beast with his horn
I have torn everyone who reached out for me

But I swear by this song
And by all that I have done wrong
I will make it all up to thee

I saw a beggar leaning on his wooden crutch
He said to me, "You must not ask for so much"
And a pretty woman leaning in her darkened door
She cried to me, "Hey, why not ask for more?"

Oh, like a bird on the wire
Like a drunk in a midnight choir
I have tried in my way to be free

1. Nice...
check out this version by Katey Sagal (Peggy Bundy)...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubDOFO6rZnQ

Katey is actually a classically trained singer and sang back-up for Bette Midler at one time years ago.

Great post actually, and I think she is free.

The anarchy thing is a bit of a contradiction. Freedom with love allows for all laws to be followed without being told what to do, since you follow laws in perfect love. So Anarchy is only with lack of love, and all people at times have problems with lack of love, so laws exist as a backup to help people from doing things not as bright.

It is anarchy without love that breaks laws, since then you do damage to many people.

Really beautiful song.

3. "and I think she is free." Can anyone be free really
Edited on Sun Jan-02-11 01:24 AM by UndertheOcean
that statement of yours really picked my heart up a beat , can anyone really be free ? and recognize it ? As I get older I am finding more and more that Freedom is the new God that I have to kill after I killed the original God of the old Testament.

Anarchy is neutral , no nihilist , it is what is aspired to beyond every manifestation of order imposed by the natural world. Anarchy is the lust for Freedom . The irony is that lust can only lead to more chains.

I hope you are sincere , and I am not laying my heart out for nothing. Just dealt with a lot of hypocrites in my life, so I am extra careful.

She may not be free from trying to be free. But I liked the song, so think she is as free as anyone else.

What do I know, sounded pretty free to me. As far as people trying, nobody corrected beer and travel money issue, so in my view nobody with many millions has tried, or they have not heard, shrug. Although that would not include her.

Maybe it is optimism. Maybe it is relative, me thinking she is more free then me when hearing that song.

In my view, if you want to kill God, you probably don't think of God like I do. However people think differently on that. Basically what you want to end with your statement, in my view is not God.

I do agree everyone is an hypocrite in some degree.

But anarchy is no laws. As far as lusting for freedom, you may be saying the desire for freedom, or a want. I also don't believe every want is bad. You can have total freedom if alone, that is really easy to do. Most don't want total freedom and learn some law is required so don't follow anarchy.

To be honest there are some messed up things in some scripture, basically scripture says 'take it' but does not explain why, I say explain why, and have gotten explanation, at least from the supernatural.

I believe God does not want us to not want by us just accepting some condition, but by learning why we should or should not have something.

Much of Paul's writings are a bit from a broken state. Or without explanation only what people should do. Everyone has their own strength and weakness, but that stuff about people made to be vessels of honor or dishonor, that I don't follow or accept. People ending up in those situations for some greater good, and later that set right, that makes more sense. If something made something just for its dishonor or suffering, that would not be what I consider God, although there could be other reasons that make more sense, but even those would have to have a justice with compassion for the individual, and in many beliefs and interpretations of beliefs, the individual means nothing accept an ends to a multigenerational goal, or a means to an ends for a team effect. So there is real problems with much of that stuff.

And I am due beer and travel money and many experiences, and it has not been explained why I should not have that, not by spiritual at least, only some in the material thinks I should not have that. Actually the spiritual explained why I should have it.
