So at the end of the movie "Slither" (SPOILERS)

After Grant got blown up and all of his zombie surrogates collapsed to the ground, what happened to the people who were in the basement? You know, the ones who were feasting and feasting and feasting on corpses and whatnot? They weren't sluggified, so presumably they didn't simply keel over when Grant died, but what's up with them?
