1. I liked the whole series
Diane got on my nerves sometimes, but I think she was meant to get on people's nerves.

Happy New Year to you too, pinboy3niner!

4. The whole damn show became tiresome around 1989.
I remember in one season (or maybe two combined) Sam bought another bar, but then bought Cheers back. Eddie died. Sam and Rebecca hooked up. Norm found success in something.

Almost as bad as The Conners "winning" the lottery on Roseanne.

6. The BEST part of Rosanne...
...was when Johnny Galecki got effin' SPEARED by that guy in the hat.

Oh...wait a minute...that was "I Know What You Did Last Summer." My bad. I was hoping somebody would spear him on "Roseanne" but that never happened.

7. Nah, the BEST part of Roseanne
was Sara Gilbert (Darlene). I had such a crush on her.

9. Jesus, he's dead??
I had no idea he had died. How sad. I did like his character on the show.

12. The minute I heard she was headed to Yale
my heart skipped another beat (not because she was going to an uber ivy-league school, but because she was obviously very intelligent).

She still is very hot, and I like that she has an off-again on-again spot on Big Bang Theory. Nice to be able to see her again.

14. Indeed - I love hotties who are also totally insanely smart.
Too bad for us she's a lesbian, though.

Not that we had much of a chance... but now we have no chance.

10. I didn't mind either
Both resulted in class conflict with Sam, which was a rich vein of humor.

I could have done with less of Nick Tortelli, however (can you believe NBC tried to give him his own spinoff?).

13. I LIKED Nick Tortelli's totally-without -redeeming-qualities character...

...and Dan Hedaya (who played Nick) was absolutely SUPERB as a similar character --
the husband/roadhouse owner in the Coen brothers' "Blood Simple".
.
.
.
Of course, I think that whole movie should probably be in every "Top 100 Movies EVER" list.

19. Except...
in Blood Simple he was a paranoid evil bastard who wanted to kill his wife and her lover. In Cheers, he was mostly harmless.

17. I liked Cheers.
The banter between Sam & Diane was a throwback to great movie couples from the '30s and '40s, with a slightly more modern twist (Sam's dunce act, and Diane's know-it-all pomposity). I thought they were a great sitcom couple.

I liked Rebecca because I love to watch Kirstie Alley fall apart. She's one of the best at comedically falling apart and is always so funny to watch. She's obviously completely nuts now and has never had a better role since Cheers, but I thought she was a more realistic foil for Sam after Diane's pomposity.

21. I had a '34 wagon, and every time I drove it I had a Woody
Didn't have a back seat or a rear window, but it still got me where I wanted to go.

Thank you ladies and gentlemen. I'll be here all week. Don't forget to try the popcorn shrimp and jalapeno poppers.
