PSA re: Jalapeño

[Ptah]

Many of you know that these peppers can be injurious to your fingers.

Others of you also know that contact with tender body parts can be painful.

None of this knowledge prepared me for what happened to me today.

I roasted some jalapeños a couple of days ago.



They weren't completely dehydrated so I thought finishing them in the microwave was appropriate.

I meant to cook them for 20 seconds.

Clumsy me, I entered 2 minutes, twenty seconds.

Forty seconds later I realized my mistake and opened to microwave oven.

One-half breath later, I had inhaled a full dose of pepper vapors.

For the next hour, I was coughing and gasping, wishing for my innocent youth.

Worse than teargas.

Be careful out there!!

1. So, like, if I jammed the microwave chock-full of jalapeños and set it on high for 30 minutes

it would be like fumigating the house and would drive off roaches and termites in an all-natural way?

Cooking nekkid once and I had a roast in the oven and was chopping jalapenos
for something on the stovetop.

Stopped to go to the bathroom. Came back out and started stirring things on
the stove. The oven was REALLY hot and I had to back away a little bit. Not
far enough. Backed away more. Not enough. Backed WAY the hell away and it
was STILL heating up.

Realized that I had only washed my hands AFTER I had gone to the bathroom.

I had given myself a case of jalapenis.
