I generally hate Metallica, BUT...

I LOOOVE the instrumental intro to "One". It's a perfect exmple of great ensemble musicianship. It's kinda ironic, cause I just downloaded it on WinMX for free.

Please don't hate me for liking one aspect of Metallica...:D

I don't really like that kind of rock music but I have always loved them. I use to find James Hetfield (spell?) really sexy.

3. I like the first four albums Metallica made

and I don't like anything after that with the exception of a few songs. In my view they really went downhill after "....And Justice For All," from which "One" comes from. They had some pretty good instrumentals that you might want to check into. "Orion" off of "Master of Puppets" is pretty catchy as well as "Call of the Chthulu" off of "Ride the Lightening."

there is a local station here (in Chas. SC, believe it or not) that plays "one" now and then. Awesome song.

did you like, or have you ever heard, the very ealy Metallica - "Kill 'em All" and "Ride the Lightning?" That's the Metallica I know and love, and I think "one" was the last we've seen of that Metallica.
