Does Red Box still do the free movie rentals one day a week? |
|
Hey everybody,
Been a while! Hope you are all well.
I don't do movie rentals of any kind, but I have a question for the movie renters here:
I am working with some financially challenged people who do rent movies (when they can afford to), and I remember reading a thread here awhile back discussing the fact that Red Box gave out free movie rentals one night a week if you knew the code, which (I think) they posted on their website. When I told the people I work with about this, they were very interested and I told them I would try to gather some more information for them as to whether the promotion was still available. I did google the issue and also checked the Red Box site, but haven't found any definite answers yet. So I decided to prevail upon the collective knowledge and kindness of DU. So... does anybody here know whether this promotion is still available, and if so, what the specifics are?
Thank you so much for any help or advice you can offer!

4. I'm taking the silence as a "No". |
|
Not a "No, I don't know." but a "No, They don't.".
I've never heard of them doing this in fact. I don't see how they could and make it work in their business model since they pay commission (a fairly substantial one considering their rental price is kinda-low compared to brick-and-moral video rental) to the store hosting the kiosk for every rental.

...it was a short-term promotion when they first started up, an incentive to get people familiar with their service and in the habit of returning. That would make sense, but I just wanted to get a confirmation one way or the other from someone who uses them. Good to see you again Chan790, and thanks for the kick!

7. Actually, Redd Foxx is dead, so I think it is all a moot point. |
