2. I don't even know what they are!
When I was a kid, the TV didn't start broadcasting until 5 p.m. with Howdy Doody. They went off-air at 11 or midnight with the National Anthem and a picture of a flag waving in the breeze. I'm old. :-(

4. Yeah, the "After School Specials" are a phenomenon that kids of the 70s and 80s
would be most likely to remember. :^)

I do also remember test patterns and the waving flag during off-air hours, though. Two things my kids who have only ever known Satellite TV have no clue about.

21. Our Anthem sign off herre in the green bay area had air force jets...
IIRC, it was a choral rendition of the anthem.

I remember that one.

At the end the unrepentant racist kid is the one left out of all the fun.

11. I remember "Stoned", with that right-wing asshat Scott Baio.
There was a few about alcoholism, child abuse and bullying. I remember "Duffy Moon" . .. yeah, I used to watch that in the 70s-80s. I think NBC had something similar.

14. KTLA Los Angeles, 1952
Only things on afterschool were Crusader Rabbit and Sheriff John. Since that was the year we got tv, we watched almost anything including test patterns.

15. The Three Stooges and Superman
Channel 11 ran The Three Stooges and Superman in the afternoon for many, many years. My brothers and I knew all of the Superman shows by heart.

This was before After School Specials. It was just reruns of old shows.

19. OMG! Blast from the past!
I had to look them up because I didn't remember the names, but I sure remember those ABC After-School Specials! I think the one I remember best was "Dear Lovey Heart: I Am Desperate", mainly because the title was so stupid.

Here's the list: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0202179/episodes . I didn't know they did a version of the book Dinky Hocker Shoots Smack (but they just called it "Dinky Hocker"). Man, just looking at the synopses takes me back...looks like a junior version of Lifetime Movies of the Week! :puke:

The only one I remember. I vaguely remember a few others.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3FvlIwuQBO8 - Knew there had to be a clip. This isn't the whole show but the most memorable scene.
