I'm gonna go see someone in the hospital this afternoon. What should I get her?
She's probably gonna die from this. So I don't know if chocolates are appropriate.

1. concern, love, being strong.
find out what she would like on your 2nd visit.
perhaps there are some just in case loose ends that need to be tied up.
maybe she needs someone to cry with, maybe she needs someone to be there.
maybe she needs to be assured that someone will look after her cat.

I don't think there is a standard "sucks you are dying" gift.

find out what she wants, find out what she needs.

2. Is she strong enough to read?
I was in the hospital for a long time and it was boring. People brought me flowers, chocolares, stuffed animals, fruit, but what I appreciated most was books, newspapers and company.

Reading material is good for people sitting with her if when she's asleep too.

Will be thinking of you...it's a tough thing to do.
