Cat Sal Called to jury duty (was denied disqualification request)
Boston resident Sal Esposito recently got called in for jury duty. He might have some problems performing this required task, though, as Sal is a cat.

The problem arose after owners Anna and Guy Esposito listed him on the last U.S. Census under "pet."

Anna filed for his disqualification of service. He was not "too old," "ill," or a "convicted felon," so she filed that he "cannot speak English."

The jury commissioner denied this request.

3. Sal was called, and he'll be picked to serve...
if the defense attorney, Purry Mason, has any say in the matter.

5. LOL, so what happens if they decide NOT to bring the cat in?

does Sal get sent to the pound?

I'd actually love to see them try to get the cat through the security at the door. "I'm serious, officer, I've been asked to bring my cat in for jury duty."

7. It's kitteh in ma jureh votin against meh
Seriously though, I know it's not good to generalize an entire species, but it would totally suck to have a cat on your jury. A friendly dog would work, but a cat? They would convict you for the fun of it just to prove they're superior.
