Did postal rates go up this year?
Trying to pay bills, local post office is closed (after 12P) and if the rates went up, I have to wait until Tuesday to post (MLK day is a holiday here).
Yes, I know I could pay automatically or on-line. I prefer not to do so. I have more control over what goes out- and when it goes out- this way.
Thanks...:hi:

1. The rate for the first ounce of first class is the same as before. The |
|
rate for the second and subsequent ounces will go up pretty soon.
Assuming a "regular" bill, ie, under 1 oz, nothing will change.

5. Wow. In Canada they no longer put the price on a stamp. That way, when |
|
the price goes up, you can still use any old stamps you have. I thought it was a great change to the system.

OK, you got your answer, and good!
One thing you might not have heard: from now on, the post office will ONLY sell the Forever stamps. You will never have to wonder what the going rate is for first class postage under one ounce!
I thought that was an extremely smart move on their part.

7. Hope they'll have more than one kind... |
|
When I go in to buy stamps, they know me as the lady who always asks for 'cool stamps'.
Think my favorites were the various pollinators they had a couple years back (bees, moths, butterflies, bats) and the Chinese New Year ones from last year. Now those were cool...:headbang:

9. I thought it meant that they can raise price for the forever stamp |
|
but the stamp will not change design. Like when they went from 42 cents to 44 cents on the forever stamp? ( I bought a whole pile of them at 42 cents, half about half of them left.)

10. Yes, they can, and they will... |
|
But even though the price will rise, you can use any of those stamps anytime.
That's what they mean by forever.
No matter what price you pay, the stamps will always be good.
