12. No, I was spending $230 a month on cigarettes as I was buying them by the pack.
I bought a nice used car with payments equaling $230. Not hard to spend that much on cigarettes per month.

14. How's this for nuts...
My wife and I smoking a pack a day = $8.29 x 2, which = $16.58 a day.

$16.58 a day x 365 days = $6,051.70 a year.

Vegas, baby.

Vegas.

:)

15. OMG that was just for one pack???!!!
I figured you were doing 2 packs of the el-cheapos.

:scared:

I don't smoke but the cost alone would be a strong reason to give up the habit.

Have fun in Vegas!

30. when you stop thinking about smoking you've succeeded.
I'm glad you've gone 50 days. that's a real accomplishment.

here's my smoking history:

I stopped smoking on 7/24/82 after smoking at least one pack of 100 mm Larks per day for about 16 years. I tried to quit a lot of times from the time I started smoking. When I finally stopped I remember thinking the second day, "gee, yesterday I didn't even think about smoking." I also stopped smoking pot around the same time.

I don't know how I managed to quit. I mean at the time I was in a working band, playing clubs and bars. Most of my friends and I were doing all of the other substances associated with being in a working band. I managed to go to bars and even do some coke with out firing up a smoke. If I can do it any one can do it.

If I knew how I did it I'd show everyone.

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.
