I'm often asked if I named him after the Rocky Horror character but, even though I'm a fan of that musical, I really named him in honor of my grandmother, who had a penchant for calling the long-haired musicians I dated as a teenager "riff raff" :D

hoo boy YES, you be MY TYPE! LOL, I lived in England in late sixties/early seventies - there was "bloody riff raff" everywhere! I remember on double-decker buses back then, you had to go upstairs to smoke (from A Day in the Life: "found my way upstairs and had a smoke") - my grandmother wouldn't let me go upstairs on double-deckers because "that's where all the bloody riff raff is". HELLO!!! THAT'S WHY I WANT TO GO UPSTAIRS! :D
