Need a small favor...
My six year old son has found a number of vids on YouTube featuring either real wrecking yards or else dioramas made from die cast cars, and he was inspired to create a bunch of his own, some of which we've posted.

Here's a link to the one that I think is his favorite, though he's a bit disheartened that it's had comparatively few views. If you have a moment, please click on it to pump the view-count, and if you're feeling especially generous, maybe post an encouraging comment. But don't mention that you suspect that he's only six; he's very proud of his camera-work!

Thanks for looking!

5. Thank you to everyone who checked out the vid!
Not sure if "Pimpmobile" was the exact comment that I was hoping for my son's efforts, but your enthusiasm is appreciated all the same!

11. Yes he did!
He heard the song in a YouTube vid about a real demolition derby, and he became a Mellencamp fan soon thereafter. It's mildly ironic in a way, because Mellencamp has sort of decried the internet as a detriment to music, but it brought him at least one fan!

Welcome to DU, by the way!

Seems like a great kid, hope he is happy with the number of views.

10. He's delighted--and the comments really made his day!
He noticed at once that the view-count had jumped up considerably, but I explained that someone probably liked the video and told their friends.

And I now see that four more comments have been added. Thanks again, Loungers! He'll be so pleased when he checks on it tomorrow!

13. Just going to it counts as a view right?
I didn't sign up to comment though.

P.S. You are a good dad!

16. Yes, the view-count goes up simply by visiting!

Don't worry about signing up, either--I wouldn't want anyone to go to the trouble unless they were already on YouTube anyway.

And thank you for the kind words!

Really, I think he's a very creative child and he has every right to be proud of his camera work.

17. Definitely creative, and he loves working with the camera
We got him a FisherPrice Kid-Tough camera a few years ago and he still loves it. They later released an "improved" waterproof version that was inferior in every way that we could discern. He used our venerable Nikon CoolPix 5600 for this shoot, with Dad right there to supervise...

His 7th is right around the corner, though, and we're looking into getting him a basic but durable camera that'll shoot video. He likes making stop-motion vids, too, but we haven't posted any yet. Stay tuned!

18. Making a six year old smile makes my own day, tyvm.
I haven't a clue as to how any of that is done, so I try to be a supportive spectator.

19. Great stuff! The gritty subject matter and unrelenting
gaze on the harsher side of reality reminds me of one of my other favorite YouTube clips, Boat in a Whirlpool...

Boat in a Whirlpool is truly a work of art. WTF, might as well put it on video.
