Isn't it refreshing...
When on the back of a book the author is looking the reader in the eyes in the picture of author included most of the time.

I mean they always have this posed feeling that is, I guess, suppose to confirm your idea of an author of being distant, above that kind of nonsense and really just to talented to be bothered with such a thing as appear normal in that same picture.

Or the way an actor never looks at the viewing audience when they are being interviewed. And, as a plus, they perform their interview instead of just giving their thoughts and what not.

We know they are acting and most of the time it appears pompous and ridiculous.

Oh, now I get it. It's an open audition tape...
