1. The Madonna version has been electronically enhanced (A Lot!)
I mean, pitch sensors and such. (I've been cursed with PP and nobody sings THAT true on pitch.) :)

2. madonna isn't really that on pitch
on the step notes.

she was a little flat on 'NEV-ver left you'....on the nev part.

they probably punched in a LOT.

you really have perfect pitch?

I have relative pitch because of all my music training.

But I can sing an A/440 -- usually -- without any guide.
Sometimes I'm off by only a 1/2 step...most of the time I get it, though.

6. Yep....I usually go by the holding notes. The little slides and such I ignore.

Pitch fixing usually changes the harmonics (also) and if I've heard somebody live I can spot the difference.
I think??..sometimes producers may leave certain little flaws in to make the singer more human but I could be entirely wrong. :) :)
When I worked for CBS (just a studio musician)...some of the so-called "Stars" would give me twitches, they were so flat/sharp. :)

3. Karen Carpenter could have sung anything
and it would sound good.

Sinead O'conner's is honest and simple. and I like it. But I can't watch her.

Madonna and the other lady....good. meh.

I'm not a huge fan of this musical.
