1. I think that could apply to anyone wanting to catch a football....
I wonder if the Eagles have heard about this concept...fascinating!

(Yeah, they are really overpaid and spoiled dumasses...)

2. By implication, the Bears receivers do not?
I guess that's what they're saying?

3. Or maybe the Bear receivers already get this concept?
I don't know- I don't watch much sports so I am amazed by the vacuous statements the announcers make.

17. I think it's considered a miracle if the ball gets anywhere near a Bears' receiver.
They are more likely to have to knock the ball out of the cornerback's hands.

7. The coach told me that their team needs to score points on offense...
And keep the other team out of the endzone on defense.

9. Well, I guess that was good advice.

That, and go into that white square at the end of the field 3 times while holding onto the ball.

It was so stupid I can't remember - but the others were losing it...

15. Who is he?
Just change your avatar to some powderpuff team now, Archae! :spank:

He was a tight end for the Broncos and Ravens. All time yardage leader at his position until Tony Gonzalez surpassed him.

I don't remember the specifics, but his analysis was dumb, dumb, dumb. And he had the better part of half an hour to come up with something.

13. I was a bit disappointed in the commentary - all season I've been trying to figure
out whether or not tackling is still an important part of the game, and those buffoons never bothered to clear it up. Also, there's something about penalties, but I wish they'd tell us whether it's good or bad to commit a lot more of them than the other team...

18. They have orders to dumb it down, actually.
So they dumb it way down. I always laugh when I hear an analyst actually start to say something interesting and informed, and then immediately apologize for "getting to technical," then follow it up with something like "If they don't start scoring, they aren't going to win this game."

We live in post-Reagan America. Dumb is the new smart.

20. That explains the Bush presidency and the mass media too.

But I'm not a regular football watcher, so if it sounds stupid to me, I can't imagine how dumb it sounds to the people who watch every week.
