2. Speed diapering?
Go get one of those life-size baby dolls and two cloth diapers, plus a diaper cover (the little pair of rubber panties you put on the kid over the diaper to keep the pee in) and two diaper pins. Guest must remove the cover, replace the diaper and put the cover back on the doll. Winner is the one who does it the fastest.

For extra entertainment, use a real baby.

5. I've never been to a baby shower, but
one I was told about is where you have a spatula, a paper bag, a cotton ball and a blindfold. You have to be blindfolded, then you pick up the cotton ball with the spatula, and carefully put it into the bag. There are howls of laughter when you drop the cotton ball without knowing it, but are still carefully carrying it across the room to put it in the bag (actually you are only carrying the empty spatula). Something like that. I've never actually seen it played.

Another very simple party game is to make a card that says, "You said "NO." in big print, and in smaller print, "You must hold this card until you can get someone else to say, "No." Hand it to the first person who says "No." They must hold it until they can get someone else to say, "No." There is usually a lot of laughter and trick questioning until someone finally slips up and says, "No." That game can continue throughout the party if you want, but usually after a while people get tired of it.

Here's a very good one that I have played many times at parties. All you need is a fork and a spoon. Everyone sits in a big circle. The only thing to remember is that the fork is a horse and the spoon is a cow. You hand the fork to the person on your right, and say, "This is a horse." They have to say back to you, "A what?" and you say, "A horse." Then they take the fork from you, and turn to the person on their right, and say, "This is a horse." That person says back to them, "A what?" and then they turn back to you and say, "A what?" and you say to them "A horse," and they say to the new person, "A horse." That person takes the fork from them, and says to the next person, "This is a horse." Each time it is passed to a new person, they turn back and say, "A what?" and each person turns back to the person who gave it to them and says, "A what?" until it gets back to you, who started it. So you get a circle of people who say, "A what?" "A what?" "A what?" "A what?" and it gets back to you, and you say, "A horse" and it goes back... "A horse." "A horse." "A horse." "A horse." That's the first half of the game.

That's relatively simple... after it goes around the full circle you add the cow. If people are doing the game easily and there is no confusion, you can start the cow sooner, before the horse comes all away around the circle back to you. You start the cow in the opposite direction. You hand the spoon to the person on your left, and say, "This is a cow." They ask you, "A what?" and you say, "A cow." They take the spoon from you and say to the person on their left, "This is a cow." That person says to them, "A what?" and they say to you "A what?" and you say, "A cow." And so forth.

So the result is you have two questions making their way around the circle simultaneously, one regarding the horse and one regarding the cow. People have to remember which direction to ask the questions, which question and which answer they are supposed to give, and which direction to answer, and there is always much confusion and laughter. At some point the two questions "collide" at one person and they are totally confused as to which question to ask and which direction (and which answer and which direction). There is really no "winner" to this game, the object is to try to keep it going, but after a few minutes most people are lost in confusion and there is always much laughter.

6. Get some disposable diapers and a variety of chocolate candy bars.
Place a candy bar inside each diaper and then smash the diaper up so that the candy bar is all mangled and looks like baby poop. Then have the guests guess which brand of candy bar is in the diaper. I've never played this at a baby shower, but I've heard of it. Charming, isn't it? :eyes:
