Every once in a while, you get to see some royal asshole get EXACTLY what he deserves...
I was coming back from picking my daughter up at BWI Saturday night. There was very little traffic the entire way. Shortly before the MD border on Rt. 83, the left lane was blocked off by fire trucks dealing with a couple of cars that had spun out into the median strip. Traffic came to a halt with about a 1/4 mile backup - nothing major.

It was close enough that I could tell the left lane was blocked so I moved into the right lane. Of course, there were the obligatory assholes who just HAVE to push it right up to the flares so they can get through the backup .04 seconds faster. The vehicle in front of me was a Jeep. Not the SUV wussy-mobile types, but one that someone would actually take off road. Some little shitbox was trying to nose its way in front of the Jeep. He'd already let two cars in so I could see why he wasn't going to let this pushy guy in.

I just had the thought, "that car is going to sideswipe the Jeep" when the funniest thing happened. It not only sideswiped it, but it must have connected with the front bumper (which was shaped like a guard rail). The Jeep slowed down, yielding to stupidity, but the guy in the shitbox couldn't control what was happening. The Jeep's bumper hooked the rear plastic apron of the shitbox and as the shitbox moved away the ENTIRE apron ripped off of it! It was hanging on by an electrical connection on the driver's side and dragging along behind.

We all came to a stop and the shitbox cut over into the right shoulder. The Jeep just kept going. We waved as we passed by the asshole. That was one FUCKING expensive idiot maneuver! I'd love to hear the recording of him calling the insurance company to explain how THAT happened.

2. Sweet.
That's a pet peeve of mine--idiots who try to bypass as many cars as possible in a merging lane situation (emergency or construction). I always enjoy it when self-important assholes are denied (sometimes by several cars) at the very end of the merge lane. Your story also makes me miss my Jeep. :D
