I need to start washing and using the same dishes over and over.

6. OMG that song is too perfect!
"There's too many dirty dishes, in this damn sink to do"... Story of my life

Well Texanwitch, I wish you luck w/yours. And just think, at least you and I have nice fluffy dishcloths to use and not Curmudgeoness' icky old stiff ones. Sending motivational vibes anyway.

7. When my sink gets full, it's time to wash them.
Sometimes that takes a week, sometimes two days. Like you, there's only one person here.

11. It is easier to take a clean plate or bowl then wash the dirty one.
Good thing I have housemates, they keep me neat.

9. I'll do your dishes for you. Send them up here.
This reminds me of my little sister's favorite bedtime story when we were young. It was called The Man Who Wouldn't Wash His Dishes or something close to that. I heard it a million times. He ran out of dishes, started using ashtrays and plant saucers and everything he could find until he was going to have to move out of his house. But he manned up and washed everything, then never let that happen again----he washed his dishes every single day. Ugh.

BTW, my sister always does her dishes.

10. Thank you for the kind offer.
I did wash the dishes this afternoon and put everything away.

Had to, two of the traveling housemates are due back tomorrow sometimes.

I am neat about picking up dishes but washing them is something else.

12. Once you wash those dishes you are going to feel much better.
You are going to feel like you have accomplished something, and like your abode is nice and neat and clean.
At least kitchen/dirty dishes wise.
I know. That is what happened to me. I used to just leave them, but now I always wash immediately after using them. So much more rewarding.
Just like doing a good deed. But for me.
