Does our imagination edit or embellish our dreams? |
|
Sometimes when I am recalling a dream, and some of the details are not too clear, my imagination wants to “fill in the blanks.”
For example, the dream I had last night, I couldn’t remember clearly a place where me and some other people were skating. My imagination suggests, maybe it was the gym at my elementary school, or the one at my high school.
Anyone else had this experience?

I wake up sometimes & wonder where did that come from. I remember some of it, but don't try to edit it.

3. I care about dreams, raccoon. |
|
I interpret all my friends' dreams for them. Dreams are very vague and I think you are right - we do try to fill in the blanks after the fact. Sometimes I dream about specific places (streets or towns) that don't actually exist. Often, in my dreams, I'll go to the same imaginary places on different nights. Probably means that I'm longing for something that I'm afraid doesn't actually exist.
Your skating dream sounds very interesting. Have you been skating lately?
