1. I admit, it's very cool....
But I think it's a short person in a gorilla suit myself.

(Kidding)

2. Interesting - I wonder if there are any skeletal or muscular differences
In that family of gorillas when compared to gorillas who do not walk this way? This could be an indication of a mutation in that family.

3. I first saw this clip as part of a news story tonight-on another young gorilla here
in a US zoo who also walks upright...I would think there must be differences in at least the hip and knee joints because he seems comfortab,e walking like that, and seems to do it regularly.

4. I hope a good hominid paleontologist gets a chance to examine the skeleton
Of at least one of that gorilla's family members when they are gone. It could be very interesting. I've watched films of various primates movement compared to humans and read a good amount of speculation on how early hominids moved. These gorillas could give some clues!

8. I seem to recall reading that archaeologists use skeletal
remains to determine if particular finds walked upright, or not. If this gorilla does NOT have different skeletal structure, then wouldn't that undo those decisions?

6. Here's an interesting article about how he was raised
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1351612/Ambam-takes-steps-global-fame-gorilla-walks-like-man.html

So I wonder how much is nature and how much nurture - the age old question, LOL!

Were his parents raised in captivity, also?

7. I saw that clip already
I heard a comment from one of the anchors on PIX news (I get some of the NYC stations where I live) that if you hear him talking, to check to see if he's a man in a gorilla suit.

10. Cool. My brother in law once got mistaken for a male gorilla by a silverback. The people at the
zoo made my brother in law (6'5") take off his hat and his black fleece to calm the sliverback down. Thankfully there was a partician between them.
