Simpsons actors 'strike over pay'
The actors who provide the voices for The Simpsons have stopped work in a pay dispute involving the renewal of their three-year contracts, it is reported.
Hollywood trade paper Variety said the six actors had not shown up for two script readings in the past few weeks.

Variety said the row involved actors including Dan Castellaneta, who voices Homer, Julie Kavner, who plays Marge, and Bart actress Nancy Cartwright.

2. Ah Yes, BBC News, that institution with a great sense of humour
Alright, they did broadcast a report on the popluarity of "Spaghetti Trees" back many April's Fools Days ago, if it's an April Fool's joke, the cast is probably doing it, not BBC News.

4. Pay them what they want, dammit!
Castellaneta alone is worth his weight in gold. Though I hope they don't try to skimp on the animation budget once this is settled, like having still pictures with just moving mouths or something.

5. Meh...
... I for one couldn't care if it went on for a short while. My local station have just decided to jump backwards from season 15 to Season 6.

So yay, the same old episodes of Simpsons I saw a few years ago (not that I mind - it gave such classic episodes as "Lisa's Wedding" & "Who Shot Mr. Burns").

But I agree - give them the money! This whole financial mess is how we lost Maude Flanders :-(

6. Ahhh, Maude was deadweight
I actually enjoy seeing Ned without his life-mate. It's made him a little more of a dimensional character in my opinion.

7. If they replace one of the main voice characters -
"The Simpsons" will officially jump the shark.

8. If the entire cast of "Friends" can each get 1million per episode...
Then the entire cast of "The Simpsons" should be given a raise commiserate with the success and contribution to the show. Remember, Castellaneta and company aren't mere voiceovers...they're acting. And quite good acting, IMO.

Give them what they want. Rupert Murdoch can afford it.
