So far my power has gone off 7 times

Evidently the rolling blackouts are more equal in some parts of town than others.

1. I rarely lose my power

I'm on the same grid as the state prison. :)My road is split on the grid, half of us are on one and the other half on another. So, while I may have power, my neighbor won't.

2. East Plano...Lost it once at 6:30A.M. for 45 minutes

again right at 8:00 for about 10 minutes..

Wife called at around 10:00, was out for about 30 minutes again...

Sick wife and 14month old at home...good thing we have a fireplace

3. I kept getting blips and then it finally went out for about 4 hours - and I'm not even in the snowy

areas. We just had rain and really high winds.

4. The good news is that it came back on 7 times as well.

I can't imagine what those poor linemen for the electric companies are dealing with right now. They are working out in sub-zero wind chills and the stuff they fix may well be out again in a short time (as you can attest!)

I freaking HATE winter, have I mentioned that lately????

5. I've been fortunate so far.

My mom said it's been 30 on, 30 off since the early morning.

6. We have old fashion Dearborn space heaters, there is a place in town that sells them.

They also fix and clean them.

Old houses have gas jets, best heat in town.

I would not let the gas pipes be cut, the old way is sometimes better.

They are safe is use properly.
