How many ways can you bake beef brisket?
Edited on Thu Apr-01-04 12:21 PM by Teneha
Me, I do it like this: I take beef brisket, sprinkle it with ketchup and roll it in crushed Honeycombs cereal. I put it in the crock pot for four hours, and viola!

If you don't have Honeycombs, you can substitute Fruity Pebbles. A great way to get 100% of your required daily allowance of 11 vitamins and minerals!

4. In that case, substitute Count Chocula
The marshmallow Count faces make a great side dish when cooked in the brisket juices in the crock pot.

3. Better idea
Fire up the smoker, and smoke the brisket at 220 deg F for 8-12 hours.

The outside makes great burnt ends, and the inside, is pull-apart tender.

Onions, potatos, mushrooms and carrots and two cups of water in a pan in the oven at 350 for three hours, covered.

AND in summer Onions, mushrooms, chopped corn on the cob (one inch slices) in a pan with water and bbqsauce for 3 hours at 350...
OR I take the above recipe and put it on the grill in a pan with brickettes on the outside..for low heat for several hours then toss it on the grill on high heat for 15 minutes.

I wondered where the HELL you were! :D

8. That does sound good, nothingshocksmeanymore...
but really, you are missing the "true liberal" experience of being different by cooking brisket with cereal.

:-)

9. i use a rub on mine and bbq it
low and slow in my smoker (a weber smokey mountain). The rub is paprika, salt, pepper, mustard powder, and garlic powder.

Smoke that bad boy for 16 hrs or so, and voila! You got yerself a nice tender piece of brisket. I'm doing one for Easter cuz my sister decided to go by old testament laws and no longer eats ham. Oy! (we're Catholic, btw)
