A Barrington High School swim coach was ordered held on $350,000 bond Wednesday after police said they found thousands of images of child pornography on his computers.
Joshua Delcore, 32, who also mentors young swimmers in a local aquatic club, was arrested Tuesday night after a multi-agency investigation led police to search Delcore's two apartments at 185 Shoreline Road in Lake Barrington.
Deputy State's Attorney Jeff Pavletic said the raid on the residences nabbed four computers containing images of children, aged 5 to 13, in lewd and suggestive poses.
The arrest sent shock waves of disbelief, anger and fear through the Barrington area Wednesday as word spread from authorities to Delcore's fellow coaches, school administrators, parents and area youth.
It adds another jolt to the region's swimming community. Just last week Cary-Grove High School swim coach Lawrence K Swager, 54, of Cary was arrested on child pornography charges. Police say they found more than 75 sexually explicit images of children on his computer.
