Poll question: Which is more offensive -- to be looked over, or overlooked? |
|
Edited on Thu Apr-01-04 03:21 PM by TXlib
I'm writing this poll, aimed at a heterosexual female audience.
You're at the gym, and you notice a guy (not a creepy-looking guy, just a normal-looking guy) who is checking the women out very obviously. He checks them from the front, and from the back.
He's not giving them the creepy psychotic stare of death, just looking them over and not being too discreet about it.
He looks at you -- and promptly overlooks you, and moves on to the next woman.
How do you feel about that?

You wouldn't need to ask if you would stop ogling women at the gym.

and IMO being looked over is worse. It gave me a bad attitude about men in general.
Being overlooked makes me feel bad for a short time, but my nice guy friends always make up for it. :)

6. So how long did you look at this guy to find out? |
|
From the other side of the fence - same rules apply - I'd rather be looked over. But why were you staring at the shallow guy? ;)

9. I debate this one with myself all the time |
|
I am a competitive type so if he is looking at more than a couple of the women, I want to be attractive enough for him to look at too. On the otherhand, that offends me. I want to be judged by my character and my intelligence, not my body. That's why I hope that my potential new work place is really as sexual harassment free as it says in the handbook. For most situations, I don't want my looks to be addressed one way or the other. It creates an unequal environment. At the gym though, I suppose that it is hard not to look at people. They are usually wearing revealing outfits and the focus of a gym is well "physical". It isn't right for him to be obvious about it though. Men wonder why many women feel more comfortable at all female gyms.
