How could the Academy Awards forget Peter Graves (and others)?
One segment that can always be counted on to court controversy is the In Memoriam montage, a sober look back at the stars we've loved and lost over the past year. At the 2010 awards, Oscar drew criticism for failing to feature Farah Fawcett in the retrospective, and it looks like the sin of omission struck again this year, when Corey Haim, Peter Graves and Betty Garrett failed to make the cut on the telecast.

1. It's ridiculous that they leave out well known names, when it is usually only a few
and it would only take another 10-30 seconds to squeeze a few more people in.

4. "Joey, do you like movies with gladiators?"
A shame they didn't show that clip, it would have been the funniest bit in the show.

5. There should be an annual "in memoriam" segment for the people they omit every year
..every year. People who die in the weeks before the Oscars are especially overlooked. Kenneth Mars, for example.

7. It isn't open ended. they are given a set amount of time
They don't forget anyone. They just have to make decisions. Maury Chakin was more of a movie actor than Graves and they left him out also. I read about the process. Would not want the job for all the money in the world. The guy who makes the final decisions personally fields calls for weeks afterward with nothing but complaints.

Last year they complained about Farrah Fawcett.
