Need help with free fonts.
I'm getting ready to build my website and want to download a specific style of font for it. What are the best free font sites that I don't need to worry about using with regard to spyware, malware, viruses, etc.?

I'm looking for Art Nouveau style fonts and have found plenty of them out there, just don't want to risk using ones that are not safe.

Thanx for your help and suggestions. :hi:

1. I always use
http://www.dafont.com/ and never had a problem. Or http://www.1001freefonts.com. Most of them are zipped files, so just scan the zip-file for anything.

You know you have to embed them into your website for others to see them? You'll see it great on your browser, but anyone who hasn't installed it, will probably see ugly Times Roman or Arial.

5. You can use Art Deco fonts if you convert them to .jpg or .giff files and use as images
Won't be searchable but you'll get the look you want.

7. Thanx, Auggie.
I might do that to create a banner, so that's a good idea there. I do want most of it searchable, tho.

Appreciate it!

6. Shoot me a PM if you have trouble embedding the fonts.

I think I can do the CSS for it in my sleep. ;)

And someone who doesn't like it:

On edit: Regarding Auggie's post - she's right. Embedding fonts only make (good) sense if you have your text with them. If it's just for a title or such, just convert it to an image and give it an alt caption so it's searchable. Otherwise it's too much of a hassle.

2. My dear hippywife!
I can't help you with fonts, but I believe CMW has you well-advised!

I just wanted to say "hi" and to say I can't wait to see your website!

4. Hi, sweet Peg!
I'm so sorry I've been so busy lately. I really miss all of my friends here but this is turning into a part time job.

I miss you most of all, scarecrow.
