1. It's pretty tame, and mostly innuendo
Tom Hanks swearing is actually worse than anything Madonna does.

Personally, I'd wait until she's 8. That's just me.

OTOH if it comes on TBS/TNT (i.e. edited) that'd be fine.

2. 5? Really? Don't make her hate you.
10 -12 at the earliest for that ONE. Earlier than that they're bored to sleep.

3. Nothing wrong with Madonna in the movie.
But would your daughter be interested in that type of movie at that age?
What other movies has she watched in the adult drama/sports category? I would like she would find it boring.

4. I could see if was PG-13
But it's PG. No gore or violence. Some mild language (shit, damn, ass..) Some sexual innuendo that I doubt a 5-yo would get (pickle tickle?) and some mild language.

Check the parents guide at imdb: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0104694/parentalguide

6. Paper Bag Princess spoiler alert. I loved that Robert Munsch book
since the first time I read it when I was 25. Your daughter will probably like it too.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Paper_Bag_Princess

"Princess Elizabeth plans on marrying Prince Ronald, who is practically perfect. However, a dragon arrives who destroys her kingdom, kidnaps Ronald, and burns all her clothes so that she has no choice but to wear a paper bag. Elizabeth follows the dragon and Ronald, and seeking to rescue her fiancé, challenges the dragon to burn forests with fire and to fly around the world. The dragon completes the tasks but after flying around the world a second time becomes tired and falls asleep. Elizabeth rescues Ronald, who is ungrateful and tells her to return when she looks more like a princess. Elizabeth realizes that she is better off without Ronald and sets off into the sunset to live her own life."

7. You're asking the wrong person
Edited on Sat Mar-05-11 12:56 AM by blogslut
I read Cat's Cradle to bloglsut jr. when she was six. Most of it went right over her head but at 23, she still giggles when I say "Yes! Yes!"
