1. One hit wonders are awesome ha
Rapper's Delight-there was no internet back then, no lyrics sheets, but I memorized that whole song word for word, it took a couple of weeks, but I finally got it all down :)

Video Killed The Radio Star- We bought a stereo with a CD player, new technology, we were so proud ha....it was the first song that we ever played on CD in our stereo.

13. "1-hit wonder" means the group/singer had no more. "Little Latin Lupe Lu," anyone?

33. That tune was a Righteous Bros hit.
I had no idea the Kingsmen even recorded it. Never heard it.
However, the Kingsmen did score again with Jolly Green Giant.

To ME "one hit wonder" means "Top Ten" in the definition of "HIT";
not # 88 on the Billboard chart.

5. I never recalled "Spirit in the Sky"
but I loved "The Eggplant the Ate Chicago."

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-Lc0Lra9cI

This was done by Norman Greenbaum as Dr. West's Medicine show and Jug Band.

I remember the song, but when I moved to Chicago, no one I met there remembered it.

of these, and those put up by other posters, that I have on a computer as MP3s. It's pretty pathetic as I think about it. I guess I am officially an old fart.

11. I think often about the 'running' concept.
Edited on Sun Mar-06-11 08:48 AM by RandomThoughts
note running is not a physical location, but not standing on a principle.

Do you see where levels create interpretation.

For example on the first level material, you could say the people that left Wisconsin ran.

But on another level they stood for a principle they believed in which is not running.

Do you see how 'running' is not running in that context.

That is where when people try to apply some situation to some other situation to find a contextual meaning, it depends how they see it.

I think alot of the concept of running, because I didn't run, I went straight into the smear that was being thrown at me years ago. I can remember that. And even when I identified the source of that problem, regardless of how big it was, I began to find a way to overcome it. Although that took some time of gathering thoughts and learning concepts, that time was not spent running either, even if not being part of that system.

Some think running is leaving some 'system' some think running is leaving some principle and staying in some system. It all depends how you see it.

Although these guys probably ran.
:D
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUjIA3Rt7gk

Although it could be about running at someone, like in the video Silent Running. Note the difference of direction.

I don't run away. Then again I learned it is best not to break

For those that don't know, my Mug, is a 40th Anniversary NFC SeaHawks Beer Stein :D

19. TIMBUK3 - "The futures so bright I gotta wear shades"
It's a shame this was their signature song because they were a terrific band with a wide repertoire.
They released a live album back in the early 90's called "Espace Ornano" recorded at the venue with the same name in Paris, France.
Great album, seek it out if you are into great live shows.

"TARZAN WAS A BLUESMAN"

Adam shot the apple into his vein
Adam said to Eve, "Me Tarzan You Jane"

Tarzan was a bluesman
Tarzan was a bluesman
Came from the suburbs searching for the truth
Ran through the jungle in his birthday suit
Tarzan was a bluesman

Tarzan was a white man
Tarzan was a white man
Fought a few rounds with original sin
In the Paradise lounge at the Holiday Inn
Tarzan was a white man

Tarzan has a suntan
Tarzan has a suntan
Joined a health club and paid his dues
Now he never sings the blues
Tarzan was a bluesman
