1. This is one of the great movie car chases,
even if it was kind of pointless as far as the plot is concerned. First the bad guys are chasing Bullit. Then he starts chasing them. It doesn't make sense, but it's lots of fun to watch.

There is music until the ominous buckling up of a seat belt. After that, it's all sound effects. The music was synced to the action almost as well as in much older movies.

The video has the wrong aspect ratio. This doesn't seem too objectionable during the car chase, but during the subsequent conversation at police headquarters there is a disembodied voice from the side of the picture.

2. That effect is explained in many places.

It is often spoken of as 'lapping' someone.

In Pink Floyd song Time. 'Coming around up behind you again.' Is both lapping, and 'coming a round up behind you again' is having support from behind, multi contextual.

In the same way this song explains it clearly.

4. Ahhh ..... that's MUCH better.
The bad guys in the black car are just action figures. A more interesting villain in this movie is Robert Vaughn's character.

It's funny how Robert Vaughn morphed from a good guy (in "The Man from U. N. C. L. E.") into a suave, oily, well-connected kind of bad guy (in this movie).
