MBTI personality types and writing.
Apparently, my Myers-Briggs personality type is "INFP". (Test here: http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JTypes2.asp).

A friend posted this link, and the accuracy of the writing personality type (in respect to me) was downright spooky. I thought some of you might like to check it out and see how you match up! If you know your type already, just follow the link below and find the link to your type's writing personality assessment. If not, take the quick test above and then check it out if you want.

Scroll down and look to the bottom right to find the link to your type. This one is mine--INFP:

1. I'm an ENFJ. But I score close to the middle on both E and J.
I took the test but have taken it before and I think it was exactly the same. I sort of agree with their writing style assessment but it reminds me of horoscopes that are easy to project into.

2. I clicked on this very skeptically...
but they nailed me. Every word of it.

http://andreajwenger.com/2009/10/03/the-entp-writing-personality/

How easy is brainstorming for me? I give away entire plot premises & novel, script, short-story treatments to near-perfect strangers who express an interest in writing because I generate 50-100 daily as good as anything on the NYT bestseller list and use maybe 2/year.

How hard is writing for me? If I can compose 1-page*/hour that's a breakneck pace for me. I agonize over every word and my first draft is typically final draft unless I've made a major revision. Sitting in the chair writing is the only time I ever entertain any vice whatsoever...if I didn't, I'd flip out. Whatever I think it will take me to write something, execution is usually 4-5x. I write best collaboratively.

6. I have the same profile
When I was younger, I used to test as an INTJ. Somehow I've become feeling as a I grew older.

10. It's interesting that you have shifted!
I think I've always tested this way. I don't remember another result - and I have taken this a few times.

7. Me too.
I just took the test for a 3rd time (not sure it's
exactly the same as before) and came up INFJ once
again.

According to the blurb, we're only supposed to make
up 3% of the population, but I bet we make up more
than 3% of DU'ers....

15. Here's something interesting....
http://www.sminds.com/cgi-bin/mbti.pl

In THIS test, there is a grey area...

In THIS test, I scored as an ESTP!

Which is interesting, because it fits my
vocation choice (I've always had my own
business or been in sales).... better than the jobs
that suit an INFJ...

Now I don't know what type I am.

16. ENFJ on that one!
Which applies to the stage director side of myself...but overall, I think the other results are more who I am as an individual.
Interesting!

18. I got INFP on that test too.
Interesting. I think I'll do some more reading about this, because I'd never really taken any of it seriously before.

5. Cool! I'm an INFP too, and I've been journaling for over 20 years!
Daily. Actually, I've evolved into an INXP - equally divided between INFP and INTP. Been wanting to write a book for a long time now, and I'm thinking about starting this summer.

8. INTJ checking in
INTJ writers are single-minded in their pursuits. They tend to envision the conclusion even before they begin writing. With a talent for analysis, they’re skilled at communicating about technical subjects. But pragmatic INTJs tend to dismiss subjects that don’t seem rational or useful. Visualizing the big picture, they integrate the theoretical with the practical.

12. Interesting.
Gives another thought to this concept.

I: Introversion preferred to extraversion
INTJs get their energy from the internal world of thoughts and ideas. They enjoy interacting with small groups of people but find large groups draining. They generally reflect before acting.

14. Since someone made a correlating comment on 38years
Could also comment on 5202 or full deck comment if you are going to mention that, I figured it was a big mo comment, although some might think differently 37 + 1

remove the blockers from the video.

'Does not turn a blind eye to a crime' is not support of traditional military concepts within the last few years based on many orders and actions that occurred.

21. INTP here
The mind of an INTP is both a finely-honed analytical tool and a playground of ideas. Its strongest function is introverted Thinking, which is supported by extroverted iNtuition. In other words, INTPs interact with the outer world intuitively, observing the big picture and its implications. They use their introverted T to process this information logically and abstractly, analyzing new ideas until they understand every aspect. Starting with only a vague intuition, an INTP can construct a whole new world of ideas.

As an analytical tool, the INTP mind excels at solving problems and designing systems. It uses logic like a sword, slashing out irrelevant information and cutting straight to the heart of a problem. INTPs have an innate dislike of redundancy and imprecision. Their primary weakness is likely to be a tendency to overlook or become impatient with details. Details are annoying consequences of the imperfect "real" world; INTPs prefer to focus on the ideal world of intellectual constructs. INTPs enjoy playing with ideas and may enjoy arguing for fun. They are happiest when they are involved in discovering the intricacies and elegance of a complex system. They seek out natural laws and underlying principles from which they can build inventive theoretical models. When involved in these analytical and intuitive activities, they can produce ideas of startling creative brilliance.
