They'll probably never persuade me to make a purchase. But I actually enjoy watching these "shows."

Whether it's the hippie sounds of the sixties, the soul sounds of the the seventies, or the love ballads of the eighties, these Time-Life music-collection infomercials are actually quite compelling viewing, and mainly listening.

At least, they're the best things I can find to watch in the wee, morning hours.

3. I enjoy those too.
They play a lot of samples of songs by "one-hit wonders" that I remember liking in my youth but have never heard since.

Those Time-Life collections aren't cheap, but I was actually moved to shell out the dough once for the Classic Country set. It was excellent. Well worth the investment, in my opinion.

5. If you wait just a bit...
you can find them being sold online for less. Even brand new.

7. Or... you could just get the tracklist for the collection online and get the songs on iTunes....
Or if you feel like breaking the law, go to your local library, get the collection, and rip the CDs to your computer...

But that would be WRONG...

9. I compared the price on iTunes and it was more expensive...
plus who has time for that? :)

And, itunes is iffy for me at best.

Instead, I ordered the cd's and the mail fairy delivered them to my door. Now I can look at the pretty cases, load the songs into my car and sing my way home from work during my commute.

11. I always think their pitch is hilarious--
something like "you would spend a lot of money buying all these albums just to have these songs!" It's like they made this commercial in 1995, before downloading off the Internet was an everyday occurrence. Or maybe they're just selling to the 60-plus crowd that doesn't want to mess around with these darn newfangled contraptions.

4. I could not stop thinking about the Singers and Songwriters collection...
but I found it online much cheaper than what they were selling it for. :)
