We had just hit the garden center (potatoes and onion sets had come in) and stopped for a beer at this place that's a real dive. It got a new roof a few years ago, so now it's a dive with a new roof. Anyway, a couple came in and sat at the stools next to ours (on her side). He started chatting us up and almost immediately said, "I really like this area - really white, you know what I mean?"

Me to self: "Think quick. Think quick." Solution: "Change the fucking subject."

I forget WHAT I changed the subject to, but it diffused the situation. He was lucky, too. She's a third degree blackbelt and could have taken his head off with a back hand. On the plus side, Yuengling draft is only $1.50 there and it is served quite cold.

Well, other than the Grand Master, his son (5th degree), and a few of the 4th degree black belts (Master level).

My three daughters are all 2nd degree black belts. I don't worry about them that much.

Etters isn't really a place. When the USPS was applying ZIP codes, the ACTUAL place (forget the real name) was just too close to another one in spelling, despite the fact that PA is the only state in the US where two municipalities can share the same name. Anyway, the mail had always been delivered to Etter's Grocery Store - which was about the size of a 7-11. So they just called it Etters and left it at that. There is no such place.
