Hospital Food
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rarp2Mi6MFY

Just a little something for the pain
Hospital food getting you down?
Honey now I'm not one to complain
But this hangin' around
Is wearing me out

So patch me up boys take me home
Are you not hearing a word I say?
She sounds so different on the phone
I just sink like a stone
Back to the bay

Tell me something
Tell me something
I don't already know
Tell me something
Tell me something I don't know

Don't seem to have that much to show
For all the hard work, the sweat and toil
You say 'well that's right', and you should know
You've been there before
You've basked in the glow
You've stood in the roar
You've tasted the snow

Tell me something
Tell me something
I don't already know
Tell me something
Tell me something
I don't already

Seeing it all so beautiful
The way it oughta be
Seeing it all so beautiful
And turning away
Turning away
Turning away

Tell me something
Tell me something
I don't already know
Tell me something
Tell me something
I don't already know

1. That picture doesn't look ANYTHING like the crap I had while I was in the hospital.
My theory is that the hospital food was put together in the basement and that all of the toilets and bodily fluid disposal tubes fed the blenders that cranked out whatever the fuck it was that they splorted onto the plates.

4. True dat--where's the Jello?
I gave birth to my son in a small hospital with very nice birthing rooms--not clinical in the least, which is what I was going for. (They did make sure I understood, however, that if there were any major complications, I was going to be hauled to the Very Big And Scary Hospital up the road.) One of the things they featured was a steak dinner for the parents, once you were moved to your post-birth room.

We ended up with stale turkey sammitches (which we had to ask for--otherwise we would have had to make do with candy bars from the vending machine in the hall). Still wondering :wtf: was up with that, except that it was 10:00 at night by the time I was moved. What the hell, you only get your steak dinner if you give birth at a time that's convenient for the kitchen staff? Why didn't they say so? Humph!

5. All three of my daughters were born at home so my wife never had that experience.
I was in for a back injury. The food sucked.

2. That looks a thousand times better than the crap
my mother received during a recent stint. She's been at that hospital before and it's gone steadily downhill in all areas since being gobbled up by a huge corporate chain. The food was inedible, the staff was surly and inattentive. It was no place for a sick person, that's for sure.

3. Both my local hospitals serve excellent food
In fact, I sometimes stop in for lunch if I'm in the area.

6. Hospital food is way better than it used to be.
There's a hospital two blocks from my daughter's house.
Sometimes we walk over for breakfast in the cafeteria.
Very good and very reasonably priced.
