Man's Home Never Connected to Sewer |
|
For well over two decades. With predictable results. http://news.yahoo.com/s//yblog_localsfbg/20110310/ts_yblog_localsfbg/ripon-mans-home-never-connected-to-sewerFor more than 23 years, the Ripon resident's waste had been deposited underneath his front lawn.
Sloan said sewage backed up into his home on a recent Friday night through the shower, toilet and sink, filling the house with a foul odor and forcing him to call for help.
"It just backed up tremendously, it was just disgusting," Sloan said.
The plumber dug into the residence's front lawn and found a problem he had never seen before: A 4-foot-wide gap where the connecting pipe was supposed to link the home with the city pipeline.:puke: :puke: :puke:

1. And the GOP logic: "Why should taxpayers pay for that? It is his fault for not noticing the problem |
|
Well? Isn't that how they justify things?

2. not much different than a leaching field for a septic system |
|
and hey, it apparently worked for 2 decades - much longer than most septic tanks last without a cleanout:rofl:

The problem has been repaired, but the sudden absence of regular "fertilization" may keep his lawn from looking so lush.
"I did have a pretty nice lawn out there, that's for sure," Sloan laughed.

4. I helped a friend in fixing up a bathroom on his family's ranch |
|
Somewhere in the history of the place, the garage was turned into a guest house. We had removed the sink and found all the other necessary pipes...that is until we pulled the toilet. The thing had no pipe...it emptied into a hole in the floor. Whoever had originally put this in simply decided that they would make a hole in the septic tank right below the toilet with a few feet of free fall in between. (It did explain some of the smell problems) After a little inspection through the hole, we also found out that the entire guest house was using a septic tank we knew nothing about!
A call to a plumber was made immediately.
