I will not join Facebook. I will not join Facebook. I will not join Facebook.
Even though there's a MLS fantasy game that I really really want to play, I will not join Facebook.

Why are so many sites becoming so dependent on Facebook, anyway?

2. I just don't get why I must have a FB account to play
There's literally no other option. It's either sign in with your FB account or set up a FB account. That bothers me.

3. Neither will I.
I may join diaspora, though.

I would guess the reason sites are dependent upon FacePlant is that they think we are all lemmings instead of Dev-O :P

fuckers anyway.

5. Companies want to know everything about you.
Edited on Fri Mar-11-11 01:24 PM by MilesColtrane
Every site you visit and the amount of time you spend there, every online purchase made, every "like" and "dislike".

You are a specifically quantifiable consuming unit that needs pinpoint marketing to enhance their revenue stream.

I'm pissed that I keep getting nagging prompts to link my Google and YouTube accounts.

31. Not according to the Treaty of Laussane of 1898.
Using the Milano Protocols, a person could join a social group covertly and be considered not to have joined. Perfectly copacetic.

Can you personalize a friend request rejection with "DTM!"

If so, where do I sign up?

30. But what if your MOTHER invited you to join?
Mom sent me a Facebook invitation today. It probably was not actually Mom, it was probably one of the grandkids visiting her that signed her up for Facebook last year.

But Mom would not understand why I will not join Facebook just to "friend" her.

I don't want to join Facebook. I don't want to interact with people just because THEY want me to interact with them. I don't want to have to worry about what new privacy invading change Facebook has made this week.

Not even if Mom wants me to join and be her friend.
